The Mindbender 89Ti W is an all-mountain freeride ski with a carving pedigree. Although it's built with the same Titanal Y-Beam construction and All-Terrain Rocker profile as its other metal-reinforced Mindbender siblings, the 89Ti stands apart thanks to a narrower waist width. Its All-Terrain Rocker profile knows no bounds and keeps you nimble enough to navigate bumps, trees, and the occasional chop. The result is a ski that has the precise edge hold you need to dominate the hardpack but is still wide enough for forays into the ungroomed. With a consistent flex, a balanced grip, and an upscale feel, the K2 Mindbender 89Ti Skis remain one of K2’s most notable contenders and continue their trend of exceptional all-mountain versatility in a composed and agile frame. Two solutions emerged from this philosophy - a Y-shaped Titanal beam in the Ti models, and a variable angle carbon braid in the non-Titanal models. The Mindbender collection emphasizes performance in varying conditions and is purpose engineered for cutting through everything, for the most planted, yet fun freeride experience.

Titanal Y-Beam Technology Titanal has long been used in high-end skis and is known for providing a damp, stable ride at high speeds and on variable terrain, but the Y-Beam technology takes things a step further with dramatically enhanced performance tuning. Y-shaped prongs set over the edges in the shovel of the ski provide precise, powerful turn initiation, while the narrower metal shape in the tail of the ski provides the support you need for charging while still remaining maneuverable, forgiving, and easy to break free from turns. Precision cut titanal in a “Y” shape alters the torsional stiffness of the ski while maintaining a balanced, even flex pattern that delivers power in a controlled manner throughout the length of the ski. You can find Titanal Y-Beam technology on the Mindbender 108Ti, Mindbender 99Ti, Mindbender 89Ti, Mindbender 99Ti W, and Mindbender 89Ti W skis.

Aspen wood core The core of the ski is there to transfer shear between all the contributing sheets and by experimenting with the proportions, K2 can temper with the balance between stiffness, dampness and flexibility and add or reduce weight. Using different types of wood and finding the right balance between them can produce great results. Different types of wood have different properties to bring to the table. K2 is able to use the properties of several types of wood in its cores, and can more accurately shape a ski's characteristics. This is done to give different strengths, flexes, and weights to different areas of a ski. In this case, Aspen has been chosen to ensure consistency, giving riders the advantage of a proven flex, durability and snap. Choosing the right type of wood and using it on the right area of the core, can make a great ski stand out!
