The Excavator is the latest addition to the K2 family. It is designed to explore the entire mountain with hard turns and sharp edges. Backcountry slopes, steep runs and sidehits are its terrain. The Excavator's special topsheet prevents snow from accumulating on it, while the Bambooyah™ Pro Core provides incredible response and extra edge hold. All day in the powder, on steep backcountry slopes and icy descents. This freeride board gives you the tools for the ultimate days on the mountain. The Excavator comes with a camber under the bindings and a rocker on the nose. You'll enjoy endless lift and not lose much edge hold. The indicated dovetail sinks into the snow and thus offers even more buoyancy. A harder flex guarantees full control in all conditions

The directional shape ensures lift for trips out into the powder, offers stability and control and guarantees pop. The taper means the nose is wider than the tail and promotes smooth turn entry and exit, stability at speed and enhanced deep snow float. The larger volume in the front area allows you to make effortless turns in deep and soft snow and increases the float enormously.
Construction : ICG™10 Carbon Glass – Integrating tip-to-tail carbon fiber stringers into fiberglass lay-ups ensures a smooth power release in and out of turns while increasing pop, liveliness, and longevity of the snowboard without adding unnecessary rigidity. K2 offers ICG™ glass in two variations; ICG™ 10 Biax Glass and ICG™ 20 Triax.
Triaxial Glass – A glass laminate with diagonal layers that adds torsional stiffness for increased stability and improved edge hold. The fibers three layers are woven at 45, 45 and 0 degrees. This makes for a more responsive ride longitudinally and torsionally.
Carbon Power Fork™ – Pre-cambered Carbon Power Fork™ additives are strategically shaped to offer greater response and energy return by increasing the width toward the tail - allowing for more material to be engaged, and more energy to be created the harder the tail is flexed. Adds snap to ollies, increases edge pressure, and gives energy in and out of turns.
Core : S1 Core – The smooth-flexing cousin to the A1 core, K2's new S1 core in designed to be damp underfoot and stronger than hell. Constructed from bamboo, aspen, and paulownia, the S1 core lets each wood do what it's best for. Tip-to-tail bamboo stringers add snap, durability, and dampening underfoot, and are balanced out by lightweight paulownia in the midbody, tip, and tail to help reduce swing weight. Underfoot, aspen and bamboo are placed at 30° angles to increase strength, supercharge edge-to-edge response, and increase pressure distribution along the edge.
Sidewalls : Hybritech™ – Hybritech™ is the most efficient way to make a snowboard without sacrificing one ounce of performance. Featuring sidewalls along the running surface that flow into the nose and tail, providing low swing-weight while extending the wood core all the way to the tip of the board for optimized turning initiation and durability.
Flex : Flex Rating – Stiff 8 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - A harder flex guarantees full control in all conditions
Base : Wax-Infused Sintered 4001 Base – Built using the hardest and fasted sintered base material on the market from Crown, the Wax-Infused Sintered 4001 Base hold wax longer than other sintered bases for a smoother glide, longer.
Topsheet : SnoPhobic Topsheet – Helps eliminate snow buildup when it gets deep.
