P.A.C. Akela Merino - Pom Beanie - Bordeaux

The P.A.C. Akela Merino Pom Beanie is made of Merino wool and recycled polyester. With a beautiful design, a soft pompon, this knitted hat by PAC is functional and suitable for cold days or winter activities. This winter hat is made of 55% merino wool and 45% recycled polyester made from recycled PET bottles. Τo protect the natural habitat of many animals and plants, P.A.C. relies on technology to recycle waste and PET bottles. The garbage collected from the oceans and seas, is cleaned and processed into granulate, from which the fibers for hats and scarves are made. The combination of materials provides a high degree of thermoregulation and faster transport of moisture. The fabric is pleasant to the touch and creates a feeling of warmth and coziness.

Merino wool is naturally antibacterial and absorbs sweat’s odor molecules, which are released only upon washing. Evolved over millions of years to protect sheep better against the elements, Merino wool absorbs UV radiation. Wool’s natural structure makes woolen items exceptionally flame resistant. While cotton, for example, ignites at 255°C, Merino wool will not catch fire until 590°C. All those amazing natural qualities make Merino wool extremely comfortable to wear.
