The K2 Special Effects is brand new and was developed for the backcountry. It comes with a rocker shape that gives you an incredible amount of lift. In addition, the contoured nose design lets you float on the soft snow and prevents too much snow from accumulating on the nose. The design of the tail allows it to plunge deep into powder, lifting the nose out of deep snow. We can already feel the powder turns.
With a crazy setback, super cut-in swallowtail, and mega-fat nose, the K2 Special Effects Snowboard is the board you reach for when it gets deep. This volume shifted surfboard lives to slash windlips and bounce through pillows. It's rockered and flat through the tail to keep you planing over everything, plus it's backed up with an extra springy bamboo core so you get tons of energy out of every bottomless turn.

FEATURES
Best for : Freeride - Powder
Freeride : Freeride snowboards are designed for the rider that
spends most of the day off groomed runs and in backcountry terrain. They
typically have a stiffer flex and are ridden in longer sizes than
freestyle snowboards. Freeride snowboards often feature a directional
shape that is designed to perform optimally in one direction.
Powder : Powder snowboards love powder. Often associated with freeride snowboards, powder boards sometimes feature a wider nose and a tapered narrower tail. The binding inserts, which determine the rider's stance, are often set back on a powder snowboard to help the rider float the tip of the board through the deep stuff. Powder snowboards sometimes also feature rocker, a design element where the tip (and tail) rise starts farther back on the board, which also helps the rider maintain tip float through the pow.
Gender : Men's & Women,s
Level raider : Advance - Expert
Riding Style : The Special Effects feels at home in deep, fresh powder. Off the hard slopes, far out, on snowy slopes and pillow lines.
Shape : Tapered Shaped Board - Directional
The directional shape ensures lift for trips out into the powder, offers stability and control and guarantees pop. The taper means the nose is wider than the tail and promotes smooth turn entry and exit, stability at speed and enhanced deep snow float. The larger volume in the front area allows you to make effortless turns in deep and soft snow and increases the float enormously.
Volume Shift™ – Volume is moved from the tips and tails to
underfoot for a wider, shorter design than traditional snowboard shapes,
increasing mobility and maneuverability for better slashing and more
lines through the trees.
Construction : ICG™10 Carbon Glass – Integrating tip-to-tail carbon fiber stringers into fiberglass lay-ups ensures a smooth power release in and out of turns while increasing pop, liveliness, and longevity of the snowboard without adding unnecessary rigidity. K2 offers ICG™ glass in two variations; ICG™ 10 Biax Glass and ICG™ 20 Triax.
Core : Bambooyah™ Core – Taking influence from skateboard manufacturing,
Bambooyah™ Blended cores are stronger than hell and come packed
complete with a five year warranty.
Sidewalls : Hybritech™ – Hybritech™ is the most efficient way to make a snowboard without sacrificing one ounce of performance. Featuring sidewalls along the running surface that flow into the nose and tail, providing low swing-weight while extending the wood core all the way to the tip of the board for optimized turning initiation and durability.
Flex : Flex Rating – Stiff 8 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - A harder flex guarantees full control in all conditions
Base : Sintered 4000 – K2's sintered 4000 base absorbs wax deep into the
material for relentless glide and unrivaled durability. The best choice
for powder
Topsheet : SnoPhobic Topsheet – Helps eliminate snow buildup when it gets deep.
Type of Rocker : Rocker camber
Directional Camber Profile – The most responsive camber profile in the line features camber running from in front of the front foot to the tail of the board with slight early rise in the nose. This gives the rider the most precision and control possible in any terrain while still floating effortlessly in the deep stuff.
