The new Alchemist from K2 is the highest of feelings when it comes to freeride boards. The Alchemist updated with A stiffer fiber and refined lay-up allows us to reduce the amount of fibre used in the board, resulting for a lighter snowboard overall.The Alchemist was developed hand-in-hand with the K2 team, testing and tweaking each iteration of the design until they landed on a rugged construction that stacks up to the teams’ daily abuse, and a good looking shape that’s nimble and easy to maneuver.  Packed with only the very best materials and technologies, this board sets new standards in freeriding. Riding the biggest lines and landing the biggest tricks requires precision, focus, and the right equipment to safely unstrap at the bottom. To meet the demands of team riders like Pat and Sage, the K2 Alchemist snowboard integrates all of our premium technology, and is the result of extensive testing and an obsessive desire to design the most capable freeride snowboard on the market.
*Wider than normal boards and developed especially for snowboarders with large feet (EU size 44+) to avoid too much overhang of the boots. Wider boards also give you better float in powder.

Directional - The Directional Shape increases float and stability at speed. Directional is the classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain and condition.Perfect for freeriding and carving on piste
Tweekend™ – Tweekend™ is simply taking the rocker and camber profile of the board and extending that profile into the tip and tail. This allows you to use the whole board as stable platform for pressing butters, floating in powder and landing big hits.
Construction : Triaxial Glass – A glass laminate with diagonal layers that adds torsional stiffness for increased stability and improved edge hold. The fibers three layers are woven at 45, 45 and 0 degrees. This makes for a more responsive ride longitudinally and torsionally.
SPECTRAL BRAID™ - A stiffer fiber and refined lay-up allows us to reduce the amount of fibre used in the board, resulting for a lighter snowboard overall.
SpaceGlass™:  An American made Aerospace grade precure fiberglass core insert used to provide unmatched structural performance at reduced weight. SpaceGlass™ inserts increase edge hold along contact points, reduce chatter, and provide unequaled durability.
Carbon Power Fork™: Equal parts snap and energy transfer, the ultra lightweight Carbon Power Fork™ additives are dynamically flexing to optimize the performance in a snowboard. Carbon Power Fork™ additives are strategically shaped to offer greater response and energy return by increasing the width toward the tail - allowing for more material to be engaged, and more energy to be created the harder the tail is flexed.
Core :  Bambooyah™ Pro Core – Equal parts performance, renewable, and durable, K2 has blended three different species of wood to create the most premium core in their offering. Bamboo and aspen are placed at 30° underfoot to supercharge the edge to edge response and increase the pressure distribution along the edge, lightweight paulownia is placed in the tip and tail to help reduce swing weight, and complementary tip to tail bamboo stringers help with snap, stability, and damping ,and come packed complete with a five year warranty.
Sidewalls : Hybritech™ – Hybritech™ is the most efficient way to make a snowboard without sacrificing one ounce of performance. Featuring sidewalls along the running surface that flow into the nose and tail, providing low swing-weight while extending the wood core all the way to the tip of the board for optimized turning initiation and durability.
Flex : Flex Rating – Stiff 9 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) - A stiff flex provides control in all conditions.
Base : Carbon Infused 5500 Sintered Base – Fast, light, and strong. Carbon Infused 5500 Sintered base is the cream of the crop. Adding carbon to a sintered base increases wax retention and decreases drag for a faster, smoother ride.
