Versatile means: adaptable, convertible. And that's exactly what the ski and snowboard helmet from Alpina is. With all its features, it turns a good day in the mountains into a very good day. The Versatile Mips is remarkably light. And that's intentional, of course, because it doesn't get in the way on the ascent to the summit or on descents through deep snow. The helmet's ventilation system always provides sufficient fresh air to the head to keep it cool even on warm days. In addition, the ear pads can be removed for even more flexibility on the ascent or in spring. Mips is also integrated into the helmet and is designed to absorb rotational forces that can occur in the event of an angled impact. The Versatile Mips was developed together with the Venet ski goggles as a perfect fit, but the helmet can also be easily combined with other goggles.

Construction : In-mold - In the inmould production process, the polycarbonate upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS inner shell of the helmet body under intense heat and pressure. This creates a large and inseparable connection between the upper and lower shell. Advantage: The helmet is very light and at the same time extremely stable.
Hi-EPS - The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS provides optimum protection and at the same time allows for extra-thin helmet wall as well as narrow helmet shapes.
MIPS: the low-friction layer allows the helmet to slide in relation to the head and adds protection in helmets against rotational movement. This technology ensures optimal protection.
Ceramic shell : All Alpina helmets manufactured using the inmold process are fitted with a robust ceramic shell. A polycarbonate plate is stretched under intense heat onto the shape of the helmet in the making and pressed onto the Hi-EPS body under high pressure and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic shell is characterized by several qualities: It is impact- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable and antistatic.

Venting adjustable : Airstream Control - Air vents at the top of the helmet can be opened and closed using the Airstream Control mechanism. The air flow can thus be regulated and adapted to the weather conditions. This ensures perfect air conditioning inside the helmet at all times.        
Insulation: Washable insulation material used as a padding in ALPINA ski helmets to provide extra comfort has both insulating and temperature-regulating properties, is breathable and prevents unpleasant sweat odours from forming .

Fit adjustable :  Yes Run System Ergo Snow - The Run System enables all Alpina helmets to adjust to a custom size by using an easy-to-move dial. Alpina relies on the tried-and-tested Run System Classic for its ski helmets, a flexible head adjustment system with a central dial. A twist mechanism allows the headband to be adjusted more loosely or more tightly. The large dial is equipped with a non-slip two-component mix and can be operated perfectly with ski gloves.
3D-Fit System - The height of the Run-System at the back of the head can be adjusted using the 3D-Fit System. The helmet can be perfectly adapted to the head in a five-point gradation system. This improves comfort when wearing, safety and accuracy of fit.

How to Measure Your Head Size For A Ski or Snowboard Helmet

Take a soft measuring tape and wrap it around your head about 1 inch above your eyebrows and ears. Most helmets are measured in centimeters, so unless you love calculations, measure your head in centimeters. For example, if you measure the circumference of your head and it is 56 cm, you will wear a 56 cm helmet or Medium (55-58cm) depending on the helmet’s size scale. Don’t have a soft tape measure? Take a piece of string and wrap it around your head and then measure the string.
After you receive your helmet put it on. The helmet should feel snug. A properly fitting helmet needs to be snug all the way around your head so that it doesn’t move around. You don’t want any excess space between the helmet and your head. Be careful to pay attention to any pressure or pain points.  The skin of your head should move with the helmet without the helmet shifting on its own.
