The Wayback 84 is the easiest to maneuver in the range. Its construction is simplified compared to the other siblings, which makes it even more playful and agile. Thanks to its dimensions and very low weight, going up and down on long days or even hiking with it, is pretty easy. The combination of the ultra-light Paulownia Tour Lite core and the hydrophobic Snowphobic top sheet, which prevent snow from sticking to the top of your skis, help the ski stay light and nimble. It is very easy to handle, and linking beautiful turns in fresh snow comes without trying. Its All-Terrain Rocker boasts a gradual rise in the tip for versatility and a short rise in the tail for added control. The K2 Skin Grommets system is very easy to use and makes attaching your skins a simple and effortless task. Whether you’re crushing resort fitness laps or making your first moves into the backcountry, mount up the Wayback 84 and experience the mountains in a whole new way.

This ski does not come with bindings.
We recommend a pair of bindings with a brake from 5 up to 10 mm wider than the ski. Please feel free to contact our customer service if you have a question about binding compatibility. If you buy skis and bindings together we can mount them for you free of charge.

K2 Wayback Collection

Additional material and technology information

K2 Technology
SnoPhobic Topsheet : Helps eliminate snow buildup when it gets deep. This top sheet material sheds unwanted snow build-up, keeping your ski light and nimble.
HybriTech Sidewall : A blend of cap and sidewall construction delivers the ultimate combination of precise edgehold and smooth turn initiation.
K2 Skin Grommets : Fully removable plugs to accommodate K2's pre-cut skins with a Z-Clip skin attachment. It can also be used with K2 shovels to build a rescue sled.

Paulownia Tour Lite core
The core of the ski is there to transfer shear between all the contributing sheets and by experimenting with the proportions, K2 can temper with the balance between stiffness, dampness and flexibility and add or reduce weight. Using different types of wood and finding the right balance between them can produce great results. Different types of wood have different properties to bring to the table. K2 is able to use the properties of several types of wood in its cores, and can more accurately shape a ski's characteristics. This is done to give different strengths, flexes, and weights to different areas of a ski. In this case, Paulownia has been chosen to ensure liveliness and flexibility, while taking advantage Paulownia's excellent weight to strength ratio, giving us an ultra-lightweight core. Choosing the right type of wood and using it on the right area of the core, can make a great ski stand out!
