Having high-tech older siblings has its advantages. The Disruption 78C benefits from hand-me-down technology that allows us to pack in features that put other skis in this price range to shame. An approachable waist width and the lightweight agility of our carbon I-Beam construction create a versatile ski that will let you hang with the best. The K2 Disruption 78C Skis + M3 10 Compact Quikclik Bindings provide high quality on piste skiing without the steep price tag. They're stabilized with K2 s latest cord ripping technologies like Dark Matter Dampening, PowerWalls, and a carbon I-beam, and feature a smooth sidecut with big shovels that can arc out turns of all shapes and bring speed and style to the piste.
K2 Disruption Collection
K2 has a long history of going
against the grain and innovating skis for all the world to follow. Skis
that have pushed boundaries, experimented with shape and technology and
flat out rip. When it came time to innovate Piste Performance and
All-Mountain categories, K2 went back to outer space and changed the
game yet again. The result is the K2 Disruption, with Dark Matter
Damping for drastically improved edge contact for a smoother, more
planted arc in hard snow. Introducing the Disruption Collection..

DETAILS
Gender : Men's
Type: all-mountain - on piste carving
Ski Terrain : All mountain - All-mountain
skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including
powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between,
but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only
going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain
skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110
mm.
On piste carving - For those that like the classic
feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving
skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn
radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and
exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in
this category are designed to make learning how to turn easy .
Shape: Conventional
Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced
Rocker Type: Speed Rocker - Camber
Speed Rocker - Full camber with low rise tip for maximum edge contact.
Construction: Dark Matter Damping – Space. The final frontier. The object of many a child’s fascination. And yet with so much of this supra terra discovery, there’s still so much to uncover. K2 has harnessed this great unknown —these depths beyond the conception of gravity as we know it — to improve edge contact on rough and firm snow. It’s called Dark Matter Damping — a process in where a polymeric damper is sandwiched between two layers of high modulus carbon, and strategically placed along the ski edge. While your grasp of the outer reaches of our celestial sphere may be limited, DMD is a much simpler construct: improved edge grip and control. And with more grip and control, you can push faster, harder, and pull in to the turn like never before. Get ready for liftoff, it’s time to rage.
Carbon I-Beam – Full length uni-directional carbon running from
tip to tail, providing increased accuracy and energy along the entire
length of the ski.
Core Material: Wood Αspen Veneer Core – Lightweight and resilient, the perfect all around core material.
Core/Laminates: Carbon, Wood
Sidewalls : PowerWall – Power transfer is dramatically enhanced with the oversized ABS sidewalls that are laminated and pocketed within the woodcore in the midbody of the ski. With the sidewall extending into
the heart of the ski, the transmission of energy from skier to ski edge is direct and precise.
Tip Width mm : 125
Waist Width mm : 78
Tail Width mm : 112
Din Range: 3-10
Manufacturer Warranty: 2 Years
Radius: 15.6 m @ 170 cm
The smaller the radius, the better the turning ability. A large radius brings a smoother ride at high speeds.
Bindings: Includes M3 10 Compact Quikclik Bindings – A lightweight binding system with Triple Pivot Comfort Toe and a Compact heel for the most comfort and secure feel.
Base : Sintered Base
-hard and fast, but a little higher maintenance, the best choice for powder.
