Another clever feature is the lightweight Liba®Smart rubber protection on the toe ends; this highlights the fact that Sonnblick DDS feels right at home on steep sections of rocky ascents. On prolonged alpine tours, climbers benefit from the combination of shock-absorbent PU midsoles at the rear and rigid TPU torsion plates at the front of the foot to offer comfort and stability in equal measure. The anatomically adapted tongue construction prevents creases and folds from occurring that otherwise lead to compression and abrasion points on extended tours. Secure contact with all ground surfaces is guaranteed by the Vibram® Multifilm sole. Dachstein’s waterproof, breathable DryDS membrane provides reliable protection from moisture, whatever the weather.
